While June may no longer be an active C3 Member, she is a C3 OG and a loyal friend of our growing Community. Erinn Donnell sat down with June before her departure to give us a glimpse inside her creative world.

What’s your favorite business or productivity tool?

I love Evernote for tracking to-do’s and organizing my personal projects, I use Pinterest a lot when working on creative projects, and Basecamp is great for working collaboratively with my remote team.

What are you currently working on here at C3?

I work for a creative agency so our projects and clients are here in MT and nationwide. I mostly focus on client acquisition which means that I do a lot of sales pitches and sales presentations but my favorite work is with my clients. I love to do product and digital marketing, branding, messaging and market positioning with Affari’s clients. At C3, I host a couple of events, Missoula Power Hour, which is a mastermind group that meets on-site 2x per month and I’ll be hosting LinkedIn Local events and other professional development events at C3.

Who is your ideal client?

I love solving problems for my clients, especially when it comes to determining their positioning in the market. I aim to have as big of an impact as I possibly can so I enjoy working with clients who are ready to dig in and work collaboratively to produce their best work.

Why did you join C3 WorkLounge, and how has it helped your work or business?

I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of co-working spaces in other towns and as a remote worker wanted to have an office outside of my home and a space for professional events, networking and collaborating.

What advice would you give someone considering coworking?

Be clear about what it is you’re currently missing and craving in a work experience other than the one you have now. Give it a try!

What’s your superpower / What do you do better than everyone else?

I provide unique customer insights that give my clients a competitive advantage in the market. When you know your audience—deeply—you’re able to create messaging that not only lights the path for your audience, it leads to: Greater awareness by the right people Higher quality prospects in the pipeline Faster sales cycles More closed deals More satisfied customers And, it’s how you can address even the most complex messaging challenges.

What’s a common misconception about your industry or work?

I think that creative agencies and marketing agencies, in general, have a bad rap because there’s a lot of smoke and mirrors in this industry and a lot of mystery when it comes to budget and why things cost what they do. I like to be very transparent and direct with my clients. We talk budget upfront and if there’s anything that’s missing or needs adjusting in our scope of work, I’m always happy to sit down with clients and walk through different options with them. At the end of the day, being in business is hard. I want to see our clients be successful no matter their budget, so we work hard to see that our clients get great value for what they pay for.

What’s your big-picture vision for your business?

I would love to see us continue to hone our craft as a team so that we can grow and always be upping our game. For this to happen, I’d like to see us continue to go after big clients so that we’re pushed to produce our best work. This, of course, will have a trickle-down effect for any size client that we work with, so my goal is to continue to move us up the value chain and find us national-level organizations and fortune 500 companies.
